Book 3 of The Reckoners
by Brandon Sanderson
The Reckoners are back! In this gripping conclusion to the series, the Reckoners realize their efforts to stop the Epics will only fail in the long-term. They must find a different way to fight back. From page 1, this book thrusts you back into the world of superheroes who are tainted by the very power they possess, and it’s a riveting tale all the way to the end.
I’m afraid that if I say anything more about the book, I will spoil something, so I’ll just say that as it ended the series, it left me quite satisfied. While the epic conclusion (see what I did there?) was just what the trilogy needed, I felt it was a tad too neatly done. I hate loose ends, but when they’re all tied up that nicely, it detracts from the immersion. And I honestly don’t even know what sort of complaint that is!
I think that if I could change one thing about the book, I’d have added a “5 years later” epilogue. And that’s all I’m going to say about it for now. As of the time I’m writing this, the book hasn’t even been out a month, and I don’t want to steal any of the joy for those who haven’t read it yet.
So I’ll just leave my rating below:
( ) definitely won’t read again
